Hello to our loyal readers, and welcome to our new followers! Last we left, we were sharing the many emotions that our little business has evoked in us since we launched in May. This past weekend, we debuted at the Kane County Flea Market and just like we predicted it was a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Let me take you back to last Friday night, minutes to midnight… direct quote from Marie, “I’ve never been so tired in all of my life.” Exhaustion, soreness, (this furniture is HEAVY!) anxiety, and hopefulness filled our minds and bodies.
We questioned our sanity to debut at the exact same time that the first quarter of school was ending… we just finished scoring a heap of bullying brochures and now we were loading a Uhaul at 11:00 at night with furniture that had filled both of our houses for months. Crazy? It sure felt like it at that moment.
What’s that you ask… Was it worth it? YES! We thoroughly enjoyed the flea market and are thrilled to say it was a success! We said good bye to some of our dear pieces that we began with, such as the duck egg blue storage cabinet and our Moroccan chairs. The gates’ opening brought us a much needed second wind, and the buzz of the market was infectious. What a blast it was to meet the day’s customers, future customers, and neighboring vendors. We were even visited by family and friends who stopped by to support us. We can’t wait to go back this spring. Hope you will, too.:)
Well enough about the market. We decided this blog will be full of pictures of some cool pieces we have waiting to be painted. Since we cleared out our inventory, we are ready to get creative. It’s time to pick up the brush, crack open the paint, and put our creativity to the test. If you see something you would like to be made lovely for your home, shoot us an email at email@example.com! If you’re are joining us for the first time, look around- stay awhile. We are happy to have you!
As always… Wishing you all things lovely,
Marie and Meg
