“To travel is to live.” – Hans Christian Andersen
Not only is our furniture refreshed and renewed, but now we are as well! Meg and her family enjoyed some sun, beach and R&R time in Lake Geneva. Unfortunately, I stress the word some because their little doll, Aubrey, was sickie which caused some hiccups in their plans. Nonetheless, they enjoyed quality time together. My European journey started with the flight attendant asking me if I wanted carne or pollo to which I responded, “Diet Coke, please.” Yes, I’m a dumb American who only knows one language… I saw many amazing sights during my travels abroad – the best was Dubrovnik, Croatia- go!!! I had an encounter with a jellyfish in the French Riviera, drank my way through Spain and Italy, and managed to only gain 2 pounds (that’s a success in my book ;)). Anyway, Meg and I enjoyed our vacations and are ready to create and make things lovely once again!
Yesterday we caught up with our best adventure stories, made plans for our next pieces, set a couple
lofty goals, and started on some exciting, new projects. First up we needed to add the finishing touches on our precious pink changing table. We added a gorgeous fabric in a delicate mint and brown pattern and topped it off with pink cording around the edges to the shelves. Even I would volunteer to change a diaper on this beauty!
Then, we worked on an ultra-cool storage item. Meghan calls it whimsical and something out of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I think its masculine and perfect for storing your cards and poker chips (or in our case, Go Fish). Whatever you think it does best, we know this wooden box is one of a kind!
I can’t believe it is almost August. For you teachers out there, you know that means summer is pretty much over. This also means I need to start checking the Sunday ads for awesome deals on school supplies! I always stock up (10 boxes for me, please) on Crayola markers at Walmart for $.99. I know, at that amazing price, who can resist?? And the way kids these days don’t know how to put caps back on, I always keep a couple of boxes in my closet for the spring months.
I hope all of our loyal readers also has a chance to travel a bit this summer because summer living is the best kind! Stay tuned as we get back into the swing of Made Lovely m&m!
Wishing you all things lovely,
